Business, Commerce, and Economics Tutors

TSTN tutors are highly qualified. Some have several university degrees while many have won numerous academic awards and have also been recognized for their achievements outside of the classroom. Please note that not all of our tutors are listed here as tutors are not obligated to provide profiles. Hassan Ahmad

Hassan is currently completing his Masters degree in Economics at the University of Toronto and plans on attending Osgoode Hall Law School next year. He has an undergraduate degree in Biophysics from the University of Western Ontario, where he won the gold medal in his program, and an undergraduate degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business where he graduated with distinction. Outside of school, Hassan enjoys playing basketball, football and frequently fishes. He also likes reading and studying topics pertaining to politics, religion, philosophy and literature.

Chiragh Ajwani

Chiragh has an MBA from the University of Iowa in the US. During the MBA program he majored in Finance. He has several years of work experience in finance and management. During the course of his work, Chiragh has taught finance. He has also been a Grader for an Economics course during the MBA program. Chiragh has a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. He got very good scores on the GMAT and TOEFL. He likes tutoring very much and is also always keen to learn. His interests include playing soccer, cricket and running.

Scott Cawfield

Scott  is an adjunct professor of Business and Economics at York University.  His education includes three degrees, and a diploma in computers and accounting.  He has specialized in the teaching of Micro and Macro Economics, Introductory Financial and Managerial Accounting, and Principles of Business.  He has written a few books in Financial Accounting, and published a number of papers on effective study skills.  He also enjoys teaching ESL English.  Scott likes to keep fit by working out, is a part-time farmer, and enjoys writing and reading Business books.

Mohammed Chowdhury

Mohammed is a member of Certified General Accountants of Ontario (CGA). He finished his Masters in International Accounting from England and also a Business and Statistics graduate. Mohammed likes to teach Statistics, various Accounting disciplines as well as IELTS. He is also an Advanced level tutor of MS Excel. Mohammed is currently working as a Business Analyst with Ministry of Children and Youth Services, Government of Ontario. In his spare time, he volunteers for different organizations and got recognized by CGA for preparing Tax Returns for seniors and Low Income Families during 2010 as a volunteer.

Diwakar Dahal

Diwakar is a graduate of two well know universities, having a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California Berkeley and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. He has worked all over the world, including four years with the United Nations Environment Programme in Thailand. His academic/professional interests are tilted towards math, economics, finance and using computers to make the former areas easier to deal with. He is an MS Excel/Access wiz, having used Excel in particular since the late 80s. Outside of that, he enjoys music, movies and a good mystery.

Juan Morales

Juan completed his Master of Arts (Economics) degree at the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Computer Science undergraduate degree at the University of Waterloo. At both institutions he held positions as both a Teaching and a Research Assistant; as TA for Calculus, Linear Algebra and Statistics and as RA for Development Economics and Health Economics.  Outside of work/school he is a guitar and bass player as well as an avid Spanish singer/songwriter.

Saim Qadar

Saim is currently completing his MBA at the Schulich School of Business, York University. He has an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from India. He loves Mathematics and secured 97/100 in his Grade 10 and an “A” grade in Applied Mathematics in Engineering. Saim has four years of teaching experience and has helped students in improving their grades in Mathematics. He likes tutoring very much and gives 100% effort. Saim is an active sportsman. He is a state level snooker player and has represented his university in Table Tennis.

Lisa Ricci

Lisa is a recent graduate from McGill University, where she received a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in accounting. She is currently pursuing her chartered accountancy designation while working in Toronto. Lisa has six years of experience tutoring, which she began during high school tutoring mathematics at all levels. At a university level, Lisa specializes in statistics and commerce courses of study for which she has been a teaching assistant.

Syed Raza-Rizvi

Syedis currently working in CIBC as a ‘Financial Analyst’ and pursuing the Strategic Leadership Program (SLP) of CMA Ontario. It is the last step of completing CMA designation. He has completed Masters of Business Administration (MBA) major in Finance from De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines. He also has an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Karachi University. During his professional career in the field of Finance, Syed taught various subjects (Financial Management, Financial and Management Accounting, Analysis of Financial Statements) in Karachi University.  Outside of school, he enjoys playing cricket, football and frequently fishes. He likes reading books and articles pertaining to politics, religion, history and literature.

Aks Rumalla

Aks is a full time MBA student specializing in Finance and Strategic Management at the Schulich School of Business, York University. In 2009, Aks completed his Masters of Science (M.S.) degree majoring in Project Management with emphasis on Information Systems and Security from the University of Houston, Texas, USA. He graduated at the top of his class by scoring a perfect 4.0 GPA. He was awarded the Paul.G.Smith scholarship and tuition fellowship for his academic excellence. Prior to that, Aks completed his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) from the prestigious Osmania University in Hyderabad, India and graduated with distinction. Aks also underwent Green Belt Six Sigma Training. He graduated from the National Academy of Leadership and Administration (NALANDA) of JCI India and is a PRIME graduate from JCI University, USA. (PRIME is a guide to implementing sound personal and leadership development programs for individuals to create a positive change)

Aks scored a perfect 800 in the Quantitative section of his GRE and also was in the 92nd percentile for the Quantitative section in the GMAT. His expertise is in subjects related to GRE, GMAT, Maths, Sciences, Business Management and Analytical Writing.

MD Hasan Sunjari

MD Hasan Sunjari obtained his MBA from the University of Canberra, Australia in 2000. His specialization is in the field of 'Marketing'. After completing his initial academic journey he worked as a 'Senior Faculty' in Scholastica, an internationally reputed English Medium School in Bangladesh, for long 9 years. His career as a teacher has been an eventful one. Last year he was awarded as 'the most inspirational teacher, 2010' by the University of Cambridge International Exams authority. His expertise ranges from management-related subjects like Marketing, Human Resource, Production, Accounting and Finance to social sciences like Economics. He is currently residing in Toronto and wants to build his career in Teaching. To expand the horizon of knowledge he has a desire to enroll in a PhD program in the near future.

Hoda Yazdani

Hoda Yazdani has graduated from University of Toronto with a Masters degree in Economics.  She was a teaching assistant at University of Toronto for a number of Economics courses such as Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Financial Economics, and Mathematics for Economics. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a GPA of 3.5.  Before obtaining her Masters degree, Hoda went to Trent University and finished her bachelors degree in Science/Economics in just three years. Hoda came to Canada in 2006 with a strong background and education in Physics, Mathematics, and English.  She was tutoring and assisting professors since her second year of studying at Trent, as she had very high grades and great references from her faculty. Hoda graduated from Trent University with a GPA of 3.7.  Her substantial experience in working with students has made her capable of helping students improve their understandings of Economics and Mathematics concept in a great deal that their grades change from C to A by the end of their course.
