FAQs

Q: How does TSTN work?

A: When you contact us and ask for a tutor, we take your contact information and choose a tutor for you based on what you need help with and your location. We then have them contact you within 48 hours to schedule tutoring sessions with you.

Q: Who are your tutors?

A: As our name implies, most of our tutors are students themselves. They are mostly graduate students and PhD candidates, though we have some tutors who are not students, some of whom are recent immigrants with degrees and teaching or tutoring experience in their countries of origin. We also have a few tutors who are certified teachers. You can read the profiles of some of our tutors in our Meet the Tutors pages of our website.

Q: What grades/levels do you provide tutoring for?

A: TSTN provides tutoring for all levels from elementary school right on to university. In fact, we are one of the few companies that provide tutoring tailored to meet the often complex needs of university students.

Q: What subjects to provide tutoring in?

A: TSTN provides tutoring in a multitude of subjects, especially for those enrolled in university. We cover anything from linear algebra to 6th grade science. For more information about the subjects that we can tutor, please visit our Subjects Covered pages.

Q: Does TSTN help with essays?

A: Yes. We can help you with the essay writing process.

Q: Can TSTN write an essay for me?

A: No. As our slogan implies, we help students help themselves. In other words, we will help you write your own essay, but we will not write it for you. Our job is to help you do your own work.

Q: What are your rates?

A: We normally charge hourly rates for our services. These rates are negotiable, and sometimes it is possible to provide packages of hours at a lower price. For information about our rates, please contact us.

Q: How do I pay for tutoring?

A: TSTN accepts payment in the form of cash, Visa and Mastercard.

Q: I am a student with disabilities. Can TSTN help me, too?

A: Of course! We provide students with tutoring regardless of their mental or physical challenges.

Q: What if I am not satisfied with the tutoring I am receiving?

A: If you are not satisfied with the tutoring you are getting, you should notify our Network Administrator immediately. We can arrange to find you another tutor who can help you, and if that is not possible, you may be given other compensation such as a credit towards future tutoring or a refund.
